Osaka, Kyoto & Nara

Osaka is Japan's culinary and comedic soul — the city that lives to eat (dotonbori neon, takoyaki, kushikatsu). Kyoto, 30 minutes away by train, holds 1,600 Buddhist temples and Zen gardens. Nara's freely wandering sacred deer cement this route as Japan's most family-friendly circuit. The Kinki region can be explored entirely by efficient train with a 7-day JR Pass.
