Macau

Macau blends Portuguese colonial heritage with Chinese culture and Las Vegas-scale entertainment. The Historic Centre (UNESCO) features pastel baroque churches and cobblestone squares. The Cotai Strip's mega-resorts — Venetian, Galaxy, Parisian — offer world-class family entertainment, fine dining, and shows. Perfectly combined with a Hong Kong trip (1-hour ferry) for a 5–7 day circuit.

With kids

Galaxy Resort's waterpark is a highlight for families — pools, lazy river, and wave pool even without casino access. The Venetian's gondola rides are a fun novelty. Ruins of St. Paul's is quick and photogenic. Macau's streets are safe but very crowded on weekends.

With seniors

Casino resorts have excellent accessibility — massive air-conditioned spaces, wheelchair access, and free shuttle buses between properties and the ferry terminal. Historic area has cobblestone streets — wear comfortable shoes.

Visa

Visa-Free for Philippine passport. Up to 30 days. Extremely easy entry with valid passport and onward/return ticket. Note: Macau is a separate SAR — clear immigration separately from Hong Kong.

When to go

Best: Oct–Mar (cool, 15–20°C). Avoid: Jun–Sep (typhoon season, very humid). Grand Prix in November draws large crowds.
