Dubai & Abu Dhabi

Dubai is a spectacle of human ambition — record-breaking skyscrapers, indoor ski slopes, luxury mega-malls, and vast desert adventures. Especially appealing for Filipino OFW families visiting loved ones, or for a premium once-in-a-lifetime family holiday. Abu Dhabi, 90 minutes away, adds the majestic Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and Ferrari World to the itinerary.

Best for

Luxury family holidaysFamilies visiting OFW relativesKids who love mega theme parksSeniors who prefer comfort & ACShoppers & luxury seekers

With kids

IMG Worlds of Adventure has Marvel and Cartoon Network zones under one climate-controlled roof. Dubai Mall has a giant indoor ice rink and KidZania. Desert safari camel riding, sand dunes, and henna painting are unforgettable. Everything is air-conditioned — surprisingly family-friendly despite the heat.

With seniors

Extremely senior-friendly in cool months — extensive covered malls, excellent taxis/Uber, flat terrain. Dubai Metro is modern and accessible. Healthcare is world-class. Avoid May–September completely for seniors — outdoor heat (45°C+) is medically dangerous.

Visa

Visa on Arrival for OFW/Balikbayan holders or those with valid US/UK/EU visa. Otherwise, UAE tourist visa required via Emirates booking, travel agent, or UAE sponsor. Check GDRFA Dubai website for latest rules.

When to go

Best: Oct–Apr (cool, 20–30°C). Avoid: May–Sep (extreme heat 40–50°C, outdoor activities dangerous for kids/seniors).
