Doha has reinvented itself as a genuine tourist destination. The Museum of Islamic Art, one of the world's finest, sits on a stunning corniche waterfront. Souq Waqif is one of the Middle East's most authentic traditional markets. With Qatar Airways' massive Manila presence, Doha is now a viable destination — not just a stopover.

With kids
Villaggio Mall's indoor canal and gondolas delight children. Qatar National Museum's architecture (designed like a desert rose) fascinates curious kids. Desert safari dune rides are exciting for older children. Doha is very safe for families.
With seniors
Extremely accessible — flat terrain, excellent taxis and Uber, massive air-conditioned malls and museums. Museum of Islamic Art has full wheelchair access. Avoid all outdoor activities in summer heat. The corniche is lovely for evening walks in cool months.
